A difficult moment
Br. MichaelDavide Semeraro
I am suffering a lot because my marriage has broken up. Last year, after living together for ten years, we got divorced. I think that the blame must be shared equally: certainly the lack of a much desired child was decisive in this painful choice. Now I am returning to the Church where I can find peace and help thanks to the parish and to some friends who are very close to me in this difficult moment. But I ask myself if a divorced Catholic can receive the Holy Communion during Mass. M.N. In Amoris Laetitia, Pope Francis’answer is very nuanced about Communio to the divorced according to objective and individual situations. As you have returned to the Church after your painful separation it is very important for you to look for a spiritual father with whom you can open your heart and accompany you in this diffucult moment, It is a path to follow with humility, truth and simplicity. Have a good journey!
