Cleaning your ears
Elide Siviero
I always laugh in the morning, because inevitably when I am in the bathroom to prepare myself, the words that my mother used to say to me when I was a child sound in the air: “Make sure you clean your ears well!”. They were words spoken at speed as she passed. So I have a sort of clean ear mania. But that recommendation was one with the other: brush your teeth well, walk with a book on your head to get an elegant posture, don’t dangle your hands while walking, eat with your mouth closed, keep your cutlery at the table well, stay with your elbows closed during the meal... In short, all those rules of good manners that allow adults to live in a civilized way.
