Engagement: a time of wonder and knowledge

Imagine the engagement as a good, ploughed soil, available for a sowing full of promise and fruit. A time of great fertility because from that sowing a couple will be born and, perhaps, also a marriage and children. A time of amazement, but also of research, all nourished by the sun of divine grace. I imagine that young engaged couples can also be contagious towards the Christian community with the joy of the experience they live.

Pope Francis writes: “Young people who get married can help renew the fabric of the whole ecclesial body. Their special form of friendship can prove contagious and foster the growth of friendship and fraternity in the Christian community of which they are a part” (AL 207).
