Holiness seems like a word from another time, the experience of someone separated from the world who can afford to devote himself to the inner life or who embodies some particular charisma. For many centuries saints have become popes and bishops, martyrs and founders of orders, even some lay people and even some married people. How can we fail to remember Aquila and Priscilla, the spouses Zelia and Luigi Martin, parents of Saint Thérèse of Lisieux, the blessed Mr. and Mrs. Beltrame-Quattrocchi just to recall different periods in the history of the Church.
