Peace, the “joyful“ virtue

This year we would like to begin to listen the Word of the Saint by quoting his words: “the virtues are very beautiful clothes because they have been woven by Wisdom’s hands... on the contrary the vices strip us of the spiritual goods”. Especially at the beginning of this new year we need to wear clothing of peace. For Saint Anthony the virtue of peace is symbolized by Salome, one of the three women at the tomb to anoint Jesus’ body. “Mary Mary Magdalene, Mary of Clopas and Mary Salome”: these three women represent these virtues: the contempt of the world, the humility of the soul, the joy for peace (....) Mary, saint Jacques and saint John’s mother, means the “pacific” and she represents the joyful side of peace. (continue)
