The ethic of love

When we reflect on the present world, thinking of the terrible episodes of violence against women we know about, we have tried to define love with the following words: “To love means welcoming people as a gift with their richness and their limits without expecting them to be what they are not or to give us what they do not want or cannot give us.
Those who idealize risk losing sight of the person, wanting to shape them starting from their own desire”. On the base of this affirmation we can say that love also has an ethical dimension rooted in motivations and values for behaving in a good and constructive way. This dimension of love is not evident in a society dominated by the emotions. (continue)
