The good will not be lost

The scene represented on the high relief almost seems to be a happy ending story: a boy, called Parisio, St. Anthony’s nephew, decides to go on a boat trip with some friends. Suddenly a violent storm breaks out and the boat capsizes. While the other boys manage to save themselves, Parisio, only five years old, drowns.
A fisherman is able to draw out Parrisio’s lifeless body The mother, Anthony’s sister, is not resigned and she prays St. Anthony promising that if her child is brought back to life she will consecrate him to God. The mother’s prayers to the Lord through the intercession of St Anthony are answered and the miracle takes place: Parrisio is brought back to life! And when he becomes older he enters the Franciscan Order as his uncle Anthony did...
