The joy of the new day

Let’s imagine the astonishment of the Mother of God! Saint Anthony writes: “After the entombment of her son the Virgin Mary never went away but she was vigilant in tears until when she saw him resurrected”. Certainly her mother’s heart was broken and before her eyes there were still the images of the humiliation and of the suffering that her Son had endured because of his immense love.
Anyhow now Mary could rejoice and the tears of suffering became tears of joy. She had been waiting outside, maybe alone, in the darkness. Now it is as if she had given birth again to her beloved son! She was maybe the first to embrace him, to cross his glorious gaze illuminated by God’s incomparable tenderness... (continue)
